Led by Harvard astronomer Avi Loeb, the expedition aims to collect all remaining extraterrestrial meteorite fragments using deep-sea magnetic instruments.

While the team has found intriguing magnetic spheres, pieces of steel, wire, and volcanic ash, they have yet to find conclusive evidence of interstellar material in the region. But Loeb is hopeful that fragments of the mysterious object called Interstellar Meteor 1 (IM1) will be detected.

The IM1 research offers scientists a unique future opportunity to study objects in interstellar space through a microscope.
