One of the leading image and video library apps, Google Photos gets UI improvements on Android devices. The featured software will have a cleaner and more organized Setup menu.
Available for some users, app version 6.39 replaces the long list of options with explanations. So users will only see six sections: Backup, Notifications, Preferences, Sharing, Apps & Devices, and Privacy.
Despite the change that hides a few functions, Google Photos’ new Settings menu interface promises cleaner and simpler navigation. Previously, the “excess” of options could confuse most lay users.
On the other hand, according to Android Police, some features are grouped in non-intuitive places. Something that makes me think that the menu needs to be further reformulated before it becomes available to more users.
For example, sharing options are split between Privacy and Sharing sections. However, the actions of the former relate to files shared with third parties, and the latter introduce functions for sharing links.

Another recent addition to Google Photos storage to save warning when deleting files. The notification can be seen in the mobile app or when managing the library via browser.
This feature will be required so that users can see the effect more clearly when deleting large amounts of photos and videos. It should also benefit Google One subscribers who often host multiple files in the cloud.
