Kazakhstan startup ApartX with technology for renting apartments through “smart” locks has attracted $250,000 in seed capital investment from local investors Big Sky Capital and Activat VC. This was reported to RB.RU by a startup representative.
The company plans to use the funds to improve the platform’s functionality and expand into new regions such as Southeast Asia.
ApartX is a project for daily rental homeowners. With the help of a mobile application, they can remotely control access to apartments using “smart” locks. These locks generate time-limited PIN codes (depending on the rental period).
The platform works with booking services like AirBnB, VRBO, and Booking.com. The project was founded by Kanat Keldibekov.
In 2021, the startup attracted investment from investment firm Activat, and the project’s valuation was $2 million. Previously, Singapore venture fund Quest Ventures and Kazakh venture fund Qaztech Ventures also invested in ApartX.
