Andrey Yakushev, an internist and gastroenterologist at the Hadassah clinic branch in Skolkovo, said that repeated brewing of tea bags poses a risk of developing an intestinal infection.
The doctor noted that it is especially dangerous to use thermopots with hot water, not boiling water. He explained that the heat in an already used tea bag produces bacteria that can harm health if not subjected to serious heat treatment. Yakushev emphasized that if you put it in hot water, it will not be a tea, but a cocktail that is harmful to health.
At the same time, there is no benefit in saving bags, according to the doctor: the concentration of tea drops with the amount of useful vitamins and trace elements it contains.
