I watched the new movie “Tyler Rake: Rescue Operation 2”. Is Netflix a hit again, or was the hype in vain?

The sequel to the action movie “Tyler Rake: Rescue Operation” has been released on Netflix.

The picture is again directed by Sam Hargrave, the author of the first part. Prior to this project, he first starred only in short films and starred in many films himself, although often not in the lead roles. However, in establishing the picture, he co-authored the Russo brothers, a degree in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Failed marriage attempt

What is the movie about: having miraculously escaped death from injuries, arrived in Bangladesh, Tyler Rake returned to go with his team on a new mission to Georgia.

The events of the film take place almost a year after the first part. It turns out that the mercenary Tyler Rake survived and was in a coma for a long time. decides that here it is – the very moment when it is time for the initial attack on the date of payment. You won’t be experimenting anymore.

However, it turns out that the combat story does not end there. An ex-wife was being held back to help save her sister, who is being forcibly held hostage by her current criminal husband.

On this, in fact, the whole story is built. We are told about how Tyler is gradually moving towards his goal, and the ending is guessed from the very beginning. No less interesting.

Parallel to the observed phenomena of the development of relations with both the ex-wife and children with her sisters, who were also captured. Only now the main character is not considered a tyrant and a bad person by his father, but rather ideologically tries to follow him.

But the story here quickly fades into the background. This is an action movie, and the audience demands blood and circuses. To the best traditions of sequels, the new “Tyler Rake” multiplies dignity.

If in the first part we were shown a very dynamic 10-minute action scene, now there is a similar one, but for 20 minutes. I’m talking about the chase, which talks about the genre of a lot of explosions and wrecked cars. Its fragments were shown to us in trailers, and then it was already clear what to expect – duplicate speaker removed. In fact, there are cuts, but they are extremely skillfully and qualitatively arranged, which, you think, seems like a good significant part of the pictures were filmed in this way, and especially the chase.

You do not notice gluing, there is no raggedness in the cluster. It seems that the operator was simply given a camera in his hands and kicked out to a rented area, they say, create and don’t stop. He rushes like a madman through various explosions, moves between cars, flies with helicopters, jumps from the roof and much more.

Through this powerful sense of presence. I met a similar personal opinion with a long endless staircase in John Wick 4. In places, bloody fights when using improvised means also resemble Wick and Raid, but at a much weaker level. Nevertheless, this production is still interesting to follow.

The story turned out no older and no better than in the first part. She explosivehere, no one can even go into predisposition and really reveal the features.

Some attention is shared by the creators of the internal organs with his main antagonist, committed to the more religious, but not fanatical. All henchmen go into battle with him to the end, they truly believe in their job and are ready to cover the back of the villain. And in some moments, he really shows that he himself works for the benefit of his people. But even here he misfires, sacrificing his disease.

The antagonist turned out to be unusual, but he does not want to be sympathetic or at least somehow suspicious to understand him.

The Fighter We Deserve

It is on action and ultra-high dynamics that this action movie is based. Yes, this is not John Wick, although there are many references to other representatives of the genre. But he can independently show his coolness and how long they worked on the fight scenes.

They literally put their soul into them. It can be seen that an experienced person was put in the editing room, who really tried to work on the logic of the film. There are also such flaws in terms of physics and the unkillable main character, but you close your eyes to them, because it looks just amazing.

Constant firefights, explosions, ups, downs and destruction do not tire. They only emphasize the action.

True, by the nearest finale, the mass feeling that the budget of the picture abruptly began to come to a minimum. Showiness becomes less, but there is a reserve for continuation. Perhaps, for the most part (if any), the scale of the battles will grow to the level of “Mission Impossible”.

Great fighter for the summer

Tyler Rake: Rescue Operation 2 uses nothing new in the action genre, but manages it skillfully with notable stunts.

This is a heartwarming movie where 2 hours fly by unnoticed. You won’t get bored until the very end. There are many references here both to the brightest representatives of the genre and to the work of Chris Hemsworth. In particular, there is a healthy Easter egg for Thor.
