Karshkov founded 1xBet in 2007 with Roman Semiokhin and Dmitry Kazorin. Currently, the company is one of the largest bookmakers in the world. In Russia, 1xBet was banned for lack of a license.
In 2019, Karshkov and his companions were placed on the international wanted list. They are accused of organizing illegal gambling activities from October 2014 to May 2019 and receiving income from this activity totaling more than 63 billion rubles.
