Recently, Neowin journalists discovered an interesting innovation in the Canary version of the application – a feature called EdgePhoto. Turns the browser into an image viewer.

Although the EdgePhoto feature is still in early development and contains bugs, it is ready to be enabled.

To do this, download the Microsoft Edge Canary version, right-click on the application icon, select “Properties” and enable a specific area. After that, you can drag and drop any image into Microsoft Edge and the browser will show all the photos in the same folder.

There’s also a dedicated button that lets you open images in a separate window without the browser UI.

It’s not yet clear what Microsoft’s purpose was with the release of EdgePhoto, given the presence of photo viewers built into most operating systems.
