Tether, the world’s most popular stablecoin engine, has announced that it has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Georgian government. As stated in the official announcement, this strategic cooperation is aimed at strengthening Georgia’s position as a central hub for the development of blockchain technologies.

Tether CTO Paolo Ardoino notes that Tether is working closely with the Georgian government to create a favorable environment for the development of the startup ecosystem. The company plans to introduce various blockchain solutions in the country, including Bitcoin, Keet, and Holepunch.

Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Irakli Nadareishvili said that Tether is interested in investing in Georgia. For this, the company will create a special fund for local startups, which will position Georgia as a country with an attractive ecosystem for technological projects. In addition, the parties agreed on cooperation in the educational field: Tether will contribute to the training of personnel to work in the blockchain industry.
