Experts say that going to the toilet three times a day to three times a week is mostly considered normal. This was confirmed by a survey conducted by ZOE Health in conjunction with Channel 4. 142,768 people participated in this survey.
It turned out that constipation was more common in women (23% vs. 13% in men) and diarrhea was more common in men (17.5% vs. 14.7%).
To prevent diarrhea and constipation, you need to review your diet. ZOE’s Dr. Will Bulsevich noted that it is important to get enough fiber, which is good for both diarrhea and constipation.
If you are suffering from constipation, you should eat more prunes, kiwis and also try taking magnesium supplements. People with diarrhea have been advised by experts to avoid fried and fatty foods, dairy products, gluten or wheat-based foods, chocolate, caffeine and carbonated drinks.
