Asus ROG Flow X16 is a 2-in-1 laptop dedicated to gaming and multimedia. The device has all the features for it, so you don’t have to invest extra in XG Mobile (an external graphics card and docking station). You pay a lot for this: at least 2,299 Euros.

If you bought X13 or Z13 from Asus before, you couldn’t ignore XG Mobile when you want to play games. But with the Asus ROG Flow X16, the company is taking a different approach. This convertible has a 16-inch display and offers options like AMD Ryzen 9 6900HS and Nvidia RTX 3070 Ti (100 watt TDP). Additionally, the laptop supports a maximum of 64GB RAM of DDR5 type, clocked at 4.8Ghz.

You can also equip this beast with a mini LED touchscreen with a glass cover, as well as a maximum brightness of 1,100 nits, 100 percent of the DCI-P3 color gamut and support for the DisplayHDR 1000 standard. The resolution is up to qhd and the refresh rate reaches 165 Hertz. There are also 512 dimmable zones. The aspect ratio is 16:10 and the screen bezels are pretty thin, but there’s still room for a 1080p webcam with Windows Hello.

Asus ROG Flow X16 with tilting screen

The Asus ROG Flow X16’s screen can be fully tilted back, so you can use the laptop – a little thick – as a tablet as well. In addition, there is support for a pen. In terms of port, it’s also good with this model, which is less than two kilos. On the sides we find a USB-c port (4.0), two USB-a ports (3.2 Gen 2), an HDMI 2.1 port, a headphone jack and a micro SD card slot.

There’s also support for the aforementioned XG Mobile eGPU slot if you want to spend hundreds more on a portable version of the RTX 3080 or Radeon 6850M XT graphics cards. This misses the point of a portable device, but it’s still a handy option to have on hand.

Prices for models

As the Asus ROG Flow X16 is available in different configurations, there are also different prices. The version with AMD Ryzen 9 6900HS, RTX 3070 Ti and 32GB of RAM will cost you 3,199 euros. If you buy the model an AMD Ryzen 6800HS, RTX 3060 and 16 GB RAM, you will lose 2,499 euros. Starting at 2,299 euros, the cheapest model offers the AMD Ryzen 6800HS, RTX 3050 Ti and 16GB of RAM. All models come with 1TB SSD.
