For the first time since the launch of ChatGPT, its monthly traffic has decreased, as has the number of unique visitors to the chatbot site. ChatGPT’s novelty-driven popularity is waning, say Similarweb analysts.

ChatGPT’s monthly traffic drops for the first time since its launch

ChatGPT’s monthly traffic fell 9.7% in June from May, and the number of unique visitors to the chatbot site fell 5.7%. This was reported by the analysis company Similarweb.

The drop in traffic and the number of unique visitors to the ChatGPT site occurred for the first time since its launch, which took place in November 2022.

ChatGPT’s novelty-driven popularity is fading, said Similarweb lead analyst David Carr.

In February 2023, ChatGPT reached 100 million monthly active users, becoming the fastest growing app in history. Currently, 1.5 billion users visit the service every month.
