Dmitry Pegov, Deputy Director General of Russian Railways, said that the first fully Russian Lastochkas are planned to be launched in the Urals near Yekaterinburg.

The first composition of the “Swallow” has already been made. In July 2023, it will be shown to the public for the first time at the Innoprom exhibition in Yekaterinburg. The general concept of the updated mask and the new composition is planned to be shown at the Sinara – Transport Vehicles booth.
“Swallows” was developed on the basis of the Desiro platform of the Siemens concern. Ural Locomotives, which produced them, was a joint venture between the German company and the Sinara – Transport Machines holding. Now Siemens has left Russia, and the localization of trains is about 90%.
