Kommersant reports that the design center “Baikal Electronics” is looking for specialists to develop microcontrollers.
The company said that “vacancies are open both for current projects and for new areas, which are considered as options for vectors for product development.”
The interlocutor of Kommersant believes that Baikal is considering microcontrollers for direct-purpose equipment – meters, Internet of Things (IoT) devices, and so on for the open RISC-V architecture. The company’s order is placed at Chinese factories, as they have “more advanced technologies, some of the large microcontrollers being developed in Russia are currently being produced there.”
Maxim Koposov, General Director of Promobit, considers the development of microcontrollers to be a promising direction. According to him, the demand for such product components from military-industrial complex enterprises, manufacturers of drones, automotive components and Internet of things devices, since microcontrollers developed in Russia and manufactured in China will be considered industrial.
