GoDaddy discovered a security breach in early December 2022. Thank you to customers who reported that for an unknown reason their site was redirected to random domains. It turned out that the attackers had access to the company’s network for several years.
“Based on our research, we believe these incidents are part of a multi-year campaign by a group of hackers who, among other things, installed malware on our systems and hijacked bits of code related to certain services at GoDaddy,” the hosting company said. A company with approximately 60 million domain names in the largest first-level domain regions, including RU.
The company claims that previous attacks uncovered in November 2021 and March 2020 are linked to this multi-year campaign.
