As part of the pilot program, robots began patrolling school campuses. Therefore, one of the schools in the New Mexico area implemented a system of patrol robots.
These four-wheeled robots, which are more than one and a half meters high and weigh around 180 kg, operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It is equipped with 360-degree cameras that transmit images to security.
The robots also have artificial intelligence that allows them to learn typical school behavior patterns and detect violations.
AI helps not only to record crimes, but also to prevent them.
At the same time, it is reported that the weapon detection function was temporarily disabled as part of a pilot project. The robots themselves are not armed, but have a built-in loudspeaker through which security personnel can communicate with suspects or potential criminals.
