The latest update of Google Chrome for iOS allows users to save websites for quick access on the home screen. By adding a web application to the home screen, the user can open and use it without having to open it in a separate browser.

Also, with improvements in iOS 16.4, these web apps can now send push notifications similar to native apps.

9to5Mac writes that these efforts could be seen as Apple’s response to allegations of anti-competitive practices against the App Store.
