Experts found that 36 financial industry applications had an insecure network communication configuration, and in 18 cases the applications allowed connections using an insecure protocol.

Particular attention is paid to storing sensitive information in the application source code. In six cases it was rated as a critical vulnerability, and in 97 cases it was rated as low criticality. Additionally, 61 applications failed to run on the emulator.

Experts state that one of the possible reasons for the security vulnerabilities may be the application’s desire to be quickly published on the App Store and Google Play platforms. However, although importance is given to the security of the server side of the application, security vulnerabilities still exist.
