Head of Financial Literacy Center Mikhail Sergeychik shared some tips for safe online shopping. He recommends using your home Wi-Fi or 4G mobile network when shopping online, and considering using a virtual private network (VPN) to increase data security.

Reminding the importance of using strong passwords for devices that need to be updated regularly, Sergeychik also warns that electronic devices should not be given to other people, including children.

It also warns of the risks of clicking on third-party links and leaving messenger marketplaces, as they can lead to scams and malware downloads to the device. Sergeychik advises you to be careful and not click on suspicious links.

In order to prevent the storage and processing of personal data by the user of the market, Sergeychik recommends sending a written consent to the processing of personal data, including card data, which can be retained even after deletion from the personal account.

In general, following these simple rules will allow you to shop online safely and protect your personal data from scammers.
