Fraudsters in Russia distribute remote access programs under the guise of banking applications. They are convinced to install them via messengers, reports RBC with reference to Kaspersky Lab.

The Russians were warned about the fraud scheme with banking applications

Malicious software copies legitimate applications for remote access. They change the very name of the programs and icons, add the name and image of the desired bank, as well as inscriptions in some text fields.

  • In December 2022, the Roskomnadzor Main Radio Frequency Center launched Antifraud, a unified phone call verification (EPVV) platform. The system is needed to combat phone scammers. Now MegaFon, MTS and VimpelCom are connected to the platform. The representatives of the structure did not disclose the connection price and the cost of development.
