The Yandex.Adverts moderation service rejected around 27 million fraudulent ads between January and June 2023, 1.5 times more than in the same period last year. This is indicated in the “Yandex” message.
According to the company, the posting was denied to those who tried to post information about dishonest financial schemes, provide shoddy repair services, and also engage in car sales fraud.
In addition, Yandex specialists blocked some 66,000 accounts of scammers or advertisers who tried to place ads for prohibited goods or services on Direct. Among the most common reasons for account bans are violations in the use of conversion advertising strategies.
Moderators also blocked or rejected more than 6,400 sites and 1,200 applications for violating the rules of the ad network (Yandex also checks the quality of resources so that ads placed on them are effective). In total, since the beginning of 2023, the moderation service has verified the placement of ad units on more than 66,000 sites.
