Sales of smart speakers with voice assistants in Russia in the first half of 2023 doubled compared to the same period in 2022. In the first quarter, 96% of sales came from Yandex and VK.
According to M.Video-Eldorado and MTS, 1.5 million such devices have been sold since the beginning of the year, Izvestia writes.
Previously, the presence of foreign developers in the segment was felt, for example, JBL, Xiaomi, and also Apple, whose speakers were imported under gray schemes. Now the market for Russian gadgets remains: their prices are practically not growing, while they provide access to various services, says Denis Kuskov, CEO of TelecomDaily.
Along with smart speakers, the demand for other components of a smart home is also growing: smart bulbs, plugs, remote controlled appliances. The growth of such smart devices and speakers is an interconnected process, experts say.
