Russia has developed a system to track stolen vehicles using technology that can jam the signals. Andrey Zhukov, head of the Surrus company, spoke about this.
Special software has been created for these new devices that allows vehicle owners to determine the approximate location of their vehicle with the installed system. Search technology uses two types of signals. The first works in motion and shows the area where the car is located (radius from 200 meters to 5 km). Second, it uses radio signals for precise positioning.
Andrey Zhukov noted that Surrus devices are much more compact than their foreign analogues. He gave an example of a Czech device, which, despite a similar principle of operation, was much more cumbersome. According to Zhukov, more than 300 successful searches for cars were made in real conditions, including a case of theft when the car was returned from Almaty, although it was stolen in Novosibirsk.
