The final launch date is expected to be announced in early September, but it’s safe to say that the launch will happen before the end of the year.

While Firefox for Android has officially supported a small subset of extensions for the past few years, the Mozilla team has focused on improving the core functionality of the browser.

The company has now built the infrastructure needed to support the open ecosystem of extensions in Firefox for Android.

To support developers of additional functionality, Mozilla will be launching new guides, resources and events for the community to help transition to a managed multiprocessor environment like Android.
