Initially, the company’s warranty did not cover “burn from misuse.” However, after discussions with The Verge, LG has offered a two-year warranty on its OLED gaming monitors in the US (whether it will work in other countries is an open question).
Although there is no explicit reference to “burn coating” in the warranty statement, LG Product Marketing Director David Park explained that the warranty covers combustion coating provided the monitor is used for its intended purpose and in a domestic environment.
OLED panel manufacturers LG Display and Samsung Display do not always work perfectly, although they provide burn-in protection. Other manufacturers that sell monitors with LG Display panels, such as Acer and Asus, do not currently offer this protection.
However, Dell Alienware and Corsair provide a three-year burn-out warranty on OLED monitors by default.
