The group noted the growing interest in folding smartphones: demand for new models at the pre-order stage exceeded previous series by more than 10%. The Z Flip 5 accounted for 56% of orders, while 44% of customers chose the Z Fold 5. The most popular colors are black and lavender. About 55% of shoppers pre-ordered smartphones with 512GB of internal storage, followed by 256GB devices (around 40%) and 1TB devices (around 5%).
According to MTS, demand for the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5 was 2.5 times the demand for fourth-generation models in the first three weeks of taking pre-orders with early delivery to retail stores. The Z Flip 5 made up 56% of pre-orders, while the Z Fold 5 made up 44%. Both models were in high demand with their 512GB memory configuration.
MegaFon noted that pre-orders for new models remain at the level of previous versions of 2021-2022. Interestingly, the sales of the previous generation Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 increased by 31%, while the sales of the Galaxy Z Flip 4 tripled compared to the previous year. As the reason for the increase in sales of the previous generation foldable smartphones, price cuts were suggested in anticipation of the renewal of the series.
Prices for Z Flip 5 average 110,000 rubles, and Fold 5 – 190,000 rubles.
