Scientists from Rosatom and the Moscow Electrothermal Equipment Plant have developed a way to improve the properties of metals used to create lasers and microelectronics. They used the new vacuum furnace technology, which allowed to change the process of obtaining metal ingots.

This new equipment of elevated furnaces provides cooling of molten metal ingots at a controlled rate. As a result, the resulting metals become stronger, harder and more machinable. This method also produces high-quality pure copper that can be used in a variety of technologies, including lasers and microelectronics.

This development promises to improve the properties of metals and expand their applications in various fields such as laser systems, microelectronics and other technologies. The new method makes it possible to create materials with improved properties, which contributes to the development of modern technologies and industry.
