The new Windows 11 update fixes an issue that has been going on for five months. Since March, users have started complaining about slow SSD performance.. Now, in the August update, Microsoft brought the bug fix.
According to users, devices were up to 50% slower. This slowness persisted despite installing newer updates. Microsoft has not officially acknowledged the problem, but it knows it exists.
The cumulative update, the Tuesday March Patch (KB5023778), was the first update to break the speed of devices. Slowness in SSDs affected four other mandatory updates, one each month from April to July, in addition to the optional update in June. Older versions of the software were also damaged.
Now, the new August package has increased the speed of computers. Unfortunately, some users will still experience slow speed. Big tech is trying to minimize the performance issues of the latest OS as they want people to download the 23H2 version of Windows 11.
