Group text, audio and video communication platform Discord has been temporarily shut down due to a data breach. The Company will continue to investigate the possible causes of the breach and will take steps to ensure that this does not happen again.
The message notes that users will not have to change their password or delete their account. However, it is recommended to change the password for those who used it on other sites and whose account was created before 2018.
In the shadow forum on August 15, they put up for sale a database of registered users and access to the discord.io server, a third-party interface for Discord, the Telegram channel “Information Leaks” was the first to realize.
The seller claimed that the database contained information on 760 thousand users: email, encrypted passwords, etc.
