realme started its journey in India five years ago. In 2023, the company received the status of the fastest growing smartphone brand in the world and crossed the bar of 100 million device sales worldwide, including Russia.

We are accustomed to the fact that a good smartphone should be expensive, what a premium must be carried. However, in realme it is considered differently and even the company’s slogan Dare to Leap is translated as “Change the standards.” So every new smartphone of this brand is a little better than its consumer segment.

A striking example is the new realme C53. This gadget has an impressive battery, a fingerprint sensor, a slim body with interesting optical effect and a large screen with a refresh rate of 90Hz.

And most importantly, its price is 13,990 rubles. For this money, I can not think of any alternative to this smartphone, both in terms of filling, and in terms of strict features and ease of use.

Sounds unrealistic? See for yourself:

Appearance is eye-catching

The smartphone has a plastic body, but it does not use devices that stand out for their design at all. The company boasts that in the production of Realme C53, the technology for applying six layers of optical gradient coating to the case is implemented.

As a result, the back cover has a texture that plays with the texture of flowers depending on the ambient light.

The effect is difficult to describe in words, so I’ll just show you how it looks:

According to my personal impression, I can say with confidence that the smartphone looks really stylish and presentable. C53 I want to put it back up in order to watch the iridescent “diamond» threads that are sewn into the body.

At the front, the user is greeted by a large 6.74-inch HD + screen made using IPS technology. Its maximum resolution is 1600 x 720 pixels. As pluses, I note excellent reviews and realistic color reproduction.

The information is easy to read during artificial introduction and on a cloudy day on the street, but with a bright sunny reserve it may be a little lacking. At the same time, the frequent 90 Hz refresh is in any case a bold plus of this smartphone.

At the top of the screen is a front camera with 8 megapixels and a cutout for the earpiece. The frames are quite pronounced, although there is a “chin” in the lower part. Personally, he did not cause any complaints from me, although some maximum gamblers.

On the right side there is a volume rocker and a power button, which has a built-in fingerprint sensor.

On the left side you can find a slot with a tray for Sim-cards. Thus, two SIM cards and a microSD card can be installed in this tray at once to increase the memory of the smartphone. Realme C53 supports flash drives up to 2 TB, so it definitely won’t be in this parameter.

The bottom edge houses a USB-C port for charging and an audio jack for 3.5mm wired jacks. I don’t know about you, but I often miss this connector, especially if I need to connect to an audio system in a car.

Complete with realme C53, a silicone case is connected, there is a built-in 33W power supply, the smartphone itself supports the SUPERVOOC super-fast charging function. When assembling a complete cable and a 5000 mAh battery charging unit, it takes about 30 minutes from 0 to 50%, and about hours to 100%.

It remains to be noted that the smartphone is quite thin. The thickness of the body of the device is only 7.49 mm, and the weight is 182 grams.

Takes pictures on a solid four

Realme C53 has a dual main camera module, which consists of a 50-megapixel f/1.8 lens and a 0.8-megapixel lens. In the standard photo mode, 16-megapixel shots are obtained, however, you can activate the night mode, as well as the full-format 50-megapixel mode.

It is important to remember that when you activate the 50MP shooting option, you will not have built-in enhancement features such as HDR, filters, in-frame detection or optical visibility functions.

So it is advisable not to experiment, but to take pictures at first: during the day and in a well-lit printer, the photos are quite high quality.

There is also a feature for recording videos at 1080p at 30 frames per second. The front camera can also record video at the same frame rate, but at just over 720p.

In fact, I have long ceased to notice any differences in the quality of the photomodule of most budget smartphones. Practice shows that there are two extremes: a smartphone shoots very badly or very worthy. Here is Realme C53 shot for a smartphone for 15 thousand rubles.

Inside and Realme UI app

Realme C53 is powered by Unisoc Tiger T612 processor. This chip is made using 12nm technologies, has two Cortex-A75 cores (clocked at 1.8 GHz) and six Cortex-A55 cores. Also, the smartphone has 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal memory, and the Mali-G57 chip is responsible for the graphics.

For everyday tasks, the power of the smartphone is more than enough. However, there may be lag in production games. Still, this is not a gaming device, so you should not run Genshin Impact on ultra settings.

Realme C53 also supports the dynamic internal storage platform, so even if you open a shared tab in the device, the device can handle the impact.

Android 13 is used as the operating system, on top of which the proprietary Realme UI T Edition shell is installed. The company promises timely profit and release of updates for this smartphone for at least 3 years.

Pros, cons and verdict

In all the days of using realme C53, I have not had a single negative experience. The device works smartly, charges quickly, detects unusually and really changes standards, proving that in 2023 you can buy a smartphone not even within 30-40 thousand, for only 13,990 rubles.

Important: Users who bought realme C53 before September 10th got the opportunity to get an additional year of warranty. This service will be activated if you contact the service center with a receipt or a smartphone with the appropriate activation time.

Summing up, I note main advantages this device:

• large and high quality screen
• fresh, eye-catching design
• decent camera
• fast charging support
• compact size and small thickness

Of the minuses, I can note the lack of the Always on Display function, but this is normal for devices with an IPS screen. Also, Realme C53 lacks NFC, which can be critical for some users.

Otherwise, this is an excellent smartphone, which the brand releases carefully for the fifth anniversary, a sufficient gift for all lovers of high-quality technology. I recommend personally twisting the realme C53 in your hands, and if you are not spoiled by flagships that cost more than 100 thousand rubles, then most likely this particular smartphone will become your reliable companion in everyday life.

Set standards with distinctive gadgets at an affordable price.
