The Moscow Stock Exchange has set an absolute record for the activity of private investors. The day before the increase in the key rate of the Central Bank, transactions were made by 1.5 million people, which is the highest value in the history of exchange trading.
On August 14, the Moscow Stock Exchange set an absolute record for the activity of private investors. The trading volume of shares on the stock exchange amounted to 240 billion rubles, transactions were carried out by 1.5 million people, the site said.
The participation of individuals in the total trading volume amounted to 84%. The majority live in Moscow (22.5%), the Moscow Region (12.5%) and Saint Petersburg (5.4%).
On Monday, August 14, the Central Bank announced an unscheduled meeting of the board of directors. At the August 15 meeting, the regulator raised the key rate to 12% a year from 8.5%.
