Windows 11 will soon allow removal applications built into the operating system. Microsoft will release removal of programs even if such applications are not very large.

Big tech continued to test the capability on a version of Windows with Canary Channel testers. Apps that can now be deleted include Camera, Photos, Contacts, Remote Desktop, and Cortana, which will be discontinued soon by Microsoft.

Previously, other programs could already be deleted. General Windows 11 users not in the Insider program will still have to wait have the ability to remove new roster members as they come in.

The next Microsoft operating system update will be available in September. In addition to the version to uninstall native Windows 11 apps, the future version will include support for RAR and 7-Zip files. There will even be improvements to the volume mixer, early access to Windows Copilot, and a new home page of Settings.
