GS Group started production of the Russian media center “Seliger” in the Kaliningrad region. They use native technologies and are designed to display and store digital content. This project received the support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
GS Group won the competition for the development of the Russian multi-service digital platform held in 2020. In addition to media centers, the company is developing a smart home controller and a network router. All these devices should be ready by the summer of 2025 and more than 500,000 units are expected to be produced.
A significant part of the cost of the project, which will cost 1.25 billion rubles, will be covered by a subsidy from the Ministry of Industry and Trade. Vasily Shpak, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia, emphasized the importance of this initiative. Media centers will allow people to receive, watch and store digital content.
The Ministry of Digital Development, Communication and Mass Media recently presented a strategy for the development of communication in Russia by 2035. The plan includes ending the use of 3G by 2035, developing and operating 5G and 6G-Ready standards, and expanding 5G networks using domestic equipment in cities with a population of 100,000 or more.
