According to Haitong International Securities analyst Jeff Pu, 83 million iPhone 15s of all models were originally planned to be released. However, due to fears of low demand, Apple decided to reduce the number of devices to 77 million.
According to Pu, there are two main reasons for this decision. First, the difficulty in sourcing components: the seller is still unable to establish a stable production of titanium cases, Sony’s photosensors, thin-bezel displays and others. The second reason is that there is a high probability of low demand for expensive smartphones.
It seems that the second reason is the main reason. However, the analyst did not provide any details.
