The average check for the purchase of office supplies in August 2023 in Russia increased by 9% compared to the same period in 2022 and by 152% compared to the previous month. Businesses are stockpiling refrigerators, office supplies, paper and safes in anticipation of increased activity at the end of the summer season.

At the end of the summer season, Russian companies increased purchases of office supplies by 152%

Analysts of the online hypermarket VseInstrumenty.ru calculated that the average check for the purchase of goods to supply the country office grew by 9% year on year and reached a little more than 3 thousand rubles.

  • The highest average bill is in Omsk (8.6 thousand rubles), Krasnodar (6.2 thousand rubles), Voronezh (5487 rubles).
  • The minimum average check is in Perm (1.9 thousand rubles), Yekaterinburg (2.4 thousand rubles) and, oddly enough, in Moscow (2.6 thousand rubles).

If we take the data for August 2023 in comparison with the previous months, in the corporate segment, sales of office supplies grew by an average of 152% (researchers recorded the maximum in Krasnodar, Yekaterinburg, Rostov-on-Don and St. Petersburg) .

The leaders in purchases were coolers (+136%), office equipment (+107%), banking equipment (+102%), from elastic bands for bills to counterfeit money detectors (but especially safes) and paper, mainly for household appliances (+ 86%).

Also on top are markers, wet wipes, glue sticks, staples for staples, compressed air cleaning cans, spray cleaners, cleaning wipes for monitor screens and optical surfaces, and cup holders.

“The increased demand for office supplies may be due to the fact that the business season starts in September. In August, employers are actively equipping workplaces for their employees. In addition, many companies are expanding their staff in 2023 and aim to bring employees back to their offices,” comments Sergey Denisenko, head of the VseInstrumenty.ru press service, about the news.
