For example, a team of engineers and researchers from the Korea Institute of Science and Technology is developing a humanoid robot that can fly an airplane without needing to change the cockpit.

Called a Pibot, the robot can successfully steer the plane, just like a human, by manipulating all the controls in the cockpit.

Even when there is a lot of vibration on the plane, he can control his hands and fingers to deftly operate the flight instruments.

The Pibot can monitor the current status of the aircraft with external cameras and internal cameras help it control key switches on the dashboard.

One of Pibot’s incredible achievements is its ability to memorize complex manuals presented in natural language, improving its adaptability to different types of aircraft.

His memory is so strong that he can memorize all the Jeppesen aviation maps in the world, which is impossible for human pilots.

The robot is under development and expected to be completed by 2026. The project was commissioned by the South Korean Defense Technology Development Agency.
