Sberbank will pay a tax on windfall profits in the amount of 3 billion rubles; the lending institution calculated the cost of the excess profits tax based on the final version of the law. This was reported by the bank’s press service.
Earlier, on August 4, Vladimir Putin signed the law on the tax on excessive profits for companies. The tax will affect organizations that made an average profit of more than 1 billion rubles in 2021-2022. Payment must be made before January 28, 2024, in which case the tax will be 10% of the excess profit. If you pay ahead of schedule, before November 30 of the current year, the rate is reduced to 5%.
According to Sberbank, the organization intends to deposit funds before November 30. The bank added that they are one of the largest taxpayers in the country; by 2022, the budget received 310 billion rubles of income tax from the organization.
Other companies have also already calculated the approximate amount of the contribution. For the Cherkizovo group, it will amount to 400 million rubles, Qiwi can pay about half a million, Headhunter estimated the costs at 268 million rubles. Raiffeisenbank was going to pay about 100 euros.
