The trade representative of the Russian Federation in Kazakhstan, Anton Loginov, said that the number of companies with Russian capital in the republic has increased dramatically during the year – 70% compared to last year.
At the beginning of August, 41,000 foreign companies were registered in the country, of which 18,000 were Russian-owned, Loginov told RIA Novosti. For the most part these are representatives of small and medium-sized enterprises (large corporations, less than 1%).
The peak influx of entrepreneurs to Kazakhstan occurred at the end of 2022 (by early December, 400,000 Russians had entered the country, including those who moved into companies with their own companies and start-ups).
The Ministry of Economy of the Republic notes that in January-October 2022 Kazakhstan’s GDP increased by 2.5% and investment in fixed assets by 6.7%.
