In the next ten years, a digital twin of a person will appear in Russia, able to predict diseases and make recommendations for their prevention. This was announced by Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Alexander Sergeev. Digital twins are models of organisms and processes that help optimize the operation of objects and prevent problems. The creation of a person’s digital twin will form the basis of a new health model that focuses on disease prevention and takes into account external and internal environmental factors.

Sergeev emphasized that one can analyze the health status of his digital twin by taking into account the environmental conditions. This system will calculate how the body responds to environmental factors and how it ages. This will warn of potential problems, especially in a changing environment such as stress or environmental change.

In a parallel project, a person’s health profile is created using the monitoring of disease markers. A pilot project is planned to be implemented in Rosatom, one of the closed cities, in order to collect objective data. But the creation of digital twins, their hardware and software, requires the development of computing technologies, including the creation of high-performance computing systems. This is an important step towards creating digital twins and improving healthcare in the future.
