According to VK, the updates will allow the holding to more effectively use end-to-end technological developments to improve the quality of work of products and solutions of similar functionality.

New VK business groups

VKontakte, Odnoklassniki, Zen, VK Video, VK Music, VK Clips and VK Messenger merged into one business group “Social platforms and multimedia content”. This group was headed by Stepan Kovalchuk as VK’s Senior Vice President of Media Strategy.

Mail.ru mail services, the Rustore application store, VK ID, VK Pay, educational products and startups are now in the business group “Integrated Ecosystems and Services” under the leadership of VK Senior Vice President for Business Development and Investments Alexander Aivazov.

As reported, business groups can expand to include new holding company assets. Products and services not included in the new business groups will continue to be developed within their divisions.

The functional areas of responsibility of the senior vice presidents of VK will remain the same.

Vice President of AI, Content and Recommendation Services

Zen CEO Anton Frolov has been named vice president of AI, content and recommendation services. In the new status, Frolov will be engaged in artificial intelligence technologies, building a single platform for recommendations and content search for all VK products.

The senior manager’s area of ​​responsibility will also include the development of the Data Office. Frolov will continue to run Zen as CEO.
