The company announced that it will already support thousands of apps on iPhone and iPad when it launches its AR helmet Vision Pro. This information was published on the official Apple developer website.

The VisionOS system on which the helmet will run is in beta testing. However, until recently, developers did not have the opportunity to test their applications on this platform.

Apple plans to release a beta version of Vision Pro OS with a built-in App Store in the fall of 2023.

All existing iPhone and iPad apps will be automatically published to the App Store for VisionOS. If an application requires functionality not available in the upcoming headset, developers will be notified.

However, many of the frameworks found in iPadOS and iOS will also be included in VisionOS, allowing you to run almost any app without changes.

Let us remind you that the release of Apple’s first AR helmet is planned for early 2024.
