Polar is launching the Pacer and Pacer Pro, two running watches that should provide both novice and experienced runners with tools and information to track mileage and show information about their workouts.
According to the manufacturer, the Pacer Pro should be ultralight, have a powerful processor, and include training tools to help experienced runners improve their performance. With GPS and heart rate measurement fully turned on, the battery life should be up to 35 hours of exercise.
The Pacer Pro’s MIP (memory-in-pixel) reflective color display should allow you to view your stats in all weather conditions, according to Polar, with a thin Corning Gorilla Glass 3.0 screen that guarantees durability. The barometer in this watch will help you measure your power curve from your wrist by directly monitoring the effort required for each segment.
The Pacer Pro also comes with a SHIFT adapter so you can customize the look of the watch with any standard 20mm wristband with quick release spring bars.
Pacer offers a variety of training, sleep and recovery related tools and functions to guide, support and customize your running training. The watch is very similar to the Pacer Pro in terms of design and features, including its MIP display and Corning Gorilla Glass 3.0 display. It also has the same hardware platform and processor.
Both watches offer the following functions, among others:
- running conditions
- Progressive Education Goals
- Multiple running profiles
- route record
- Running performance test
- walking test
- Running Directory
- Sleep Monitoring Features
- Music Controls
- Smart Watch Features
- Long battery life (up to 35 hours of exercise time with full GPS and HR tracking enabled and up to 100 hours in power save mode)
The Polar Pacer Pro is now available for pre-order for €299.90 and the Polar Pacer for €199.90 on Polar.com. The second should be shipped later in May.
