Gazprom-Media negotiates the export of films and television series to Thailand

As the deputy general director of the holding, Yulia Golubeva, told RBC, since the beginning of 2022, about 70% of international sales of Gazprom-Media film and television series rights come from Asian countries.

China remains the company’s main partner. In particular, in November 2023 the film “Challenge” will be released in China, whose distributor is the Central Partnership company, which is part of the holding company.

In addition, in the summer of 2023, the filming of the film “Deranged” took place in Shanghai, the first international project in the last four years to be filmed in China.

According to Golubeva, since the beginning of this year Thailand began to show interest in the holding’s products. The company’s top manager did not specify which films and television series we are talking about. However, representatives of Gazprom-Media told the publication that at the initial stage the negotiations are of a general nature and concern “the sale of content rights to several large players in the Thai market at once.”

At the same time, Gazprom-Media continues cooperation with South Korea, Mongolia and Latin American countries.
