He reminded the audience that the audit of Moldovagaz’s so-called debt to Gazprom has been completed. Recan said: “We have come to the conclusion that these debts are unfounded and we do not intend to pay them. The Government of the Republic of Moldova is strengthening the country’s energy independence.”

He also said that the Moldovan state company Energocom continues to purchase natural gas at lower prices, ensuring sufficient reserves throughout the winter. Recean pointed out the paradox that such an application has not been used in Moldova for the last 30 years.
