How to increase the warranty period of Apple gadgets when purchasing through parallel imports

Recently it was already profitable to buy the Mac mini 2023. The computer arrived intact, turned on and is working properly.

The moment with the guarantor was a little frustrating. When applying for entitlement to service, the date displayed on the Apple website was incorrect. Most likely, this was the date the importer purchased the computer, after which the device arrived in Russia and lay somewhere in a warehouse.

As it turns out, you can contact Apple support and make changes to the system after actually purchasing the device. This warranty will be valid from the date of receipt of the equipment, and not from the date of purchase by the importer in another country.

How to change the warranty period of an Apple gadget

1. Download the free app Apple Support from the App Store.

2. Launch the utility and log in to your account. Apple IDto which a decision was made on a gadget with an inaccurate warranty period.

3. On the tab Support find the device in the list.

4. Choose a section Other questions – Tell us about the problem.

5. Briefly describe the problem. You may then see a button to contact a support representative via chat.

If there is no such button, select Call and contact support.

6. We tell the situation to the employee. From your words, they ask for valid dates of purchase and sudden changes in the system.

7. In a few days, the warranty information in the applications and system components of most gadgets will be updated.

In my case, the warranty period was shifted not even to the date of payment, but to the date of receipt of the device from the courier. If you also bought a gadget in parallel with import, feel free to check the validity of the warranty and correct it in this way.
