Stanislav Kuznetsov, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sberbank, shared information about cyber attacks against Sber in the second quarter of 2023 at the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF). He said 32 DDoS attacks were recorded on the bank during this period. This demonstrates the ongoing cybersecurity threat to financial institutions in Russia.

Kuznetsov also emphasized that Sberbank is actively working on import substitution and the transition to domestic developments in the field of cybersecurity. He noted that Sberbank’s center for monitoring and responding to cybersecurity incidents currently uses entirely Russian solutions. Such developments created within the bank account for 95% of the total volume of cybersecurity tools.

The bank is also actively working on replacing foreign cybersecurity products and components with domestic analogues. This step is aimed at ensuring more reliable protection of Sberbank’s infrastructure and reducing dependence on foreign suppliers in this area.
