Apple today introduced the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max.
For the first time, an iPhone uses a titanium frame. This makes the new iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max the stalwart iPhone Pros of history. In addition, titanium is the most expensive material that Apple has used in iPhone cases.
Titanium is stronger and more durable than steel, and yet much lighter.
Grade 5 titanium is used to produce the iPhone 15 Pro. For example, Mars rovers are made from this.
The iPhone 15 Pro no longer has a silent switch. Instead, there is a button installed that is responsible for several actions at once: turning on silent mode, turning on the camera, flashlight and other functions.
The new button is similar to the Touch ID in the iPhone SE – it does not respond to pressure and responds to pressure. When the user presses a button, the Taptic Engine simulates clicks using vibration.
iPhone 15 Pro is powered by the new A17 Pro processor. This is the first mobile chip made using the 3nm process technology.
The central 6-core processor consists of two productive and four energy-efficient cores.
The 16-core neural engine is twice as fast as before. It can process up to 35 million operations per second.
The A17 Pro has a USB controller that provides support for USB 3 and allows data transfer speeds of up to 10 Gbps.
The main change in the A17 Pro is the new 6-core graphics chip. It is 20% faster and supports ray tracing in hardware. It works 4 times faster than software ray tracing in the A16 Bionic.
Apple said that you can play Resident Evil 4 on the iPhone 15 Pro, and Ubisoft provided a port of the console version of Assassin’s Creed: Mirage.
The iPhone 15 Pro’s 48MP primary camera has a larger sensor than the iPhone 15’s to reduce glare in low-light conditions.
In the power system, you can select the default lens, as well as select the focal length for the main camera: 24 mm, 28 mm and 35 mm.
The telephoto camera retains the 12 MP module, but now has 5x optical zoom supports with a focal length of 120 mm. To achieve this figure, Apple increased the sensor size by 25% compared to the iPhone 14 Pro Max.
An optical stabilization protection system installed for the first time in a smartphone sensor that can move on three platforms.
The ultra-wide-angle camera has a new anti-glare coating, night mode and intelligent HDR. Plus there is macro photography.
In total, the iPhone 15 Pro can shoot at seven focal lengths, including macro: 13, 24, 28, 35, 48 and 120 mm.
