The TON Foundation, the developer of the Wallet crypto wallet, announced a partnership with Telegram, writes Durov Code. It involves the integration of crypto wallets to provide users with direct access.
Some users of the bot of the same name already have the Wallet icon in the Telegram settings. Users are asked to accept the terms of use, after which they are granted access to the crypto wallet.
The feature will appear for all Messenger users in November 2023, except for the United States and “some other countries.”
Telegram will also provide TON partners with priority access to its advertising platform, but what this will consist of is not specified.
“By integrating Wallet into Telegram, we put an end to the problems associated with logging into the system and open access to cryptocurrencies for all Telegram users,” said Andrey Rogozov, CEO of The Open Platform.
By 2028, TON plans to reach around 30% of messaging users, notes Durov Code.
