The Dutch holding VEON plans to close the sale agreement for VimpelCom (Beeline brand) before October 13. The company plans to resolve all procedures, including those related to bonuses, by this date.

VEON had planned to close the deal to sell VimpelCom in October

It was planned to close the deal before June 1, but the government commission had questions about the agreements with the holding’s Russian bondholders, RBC writes.

Veon signed an agreement to sell VimpelCom (Beeline brand) to its Russian top managers in November 2022. Under the terms of the agreement, the holding company will receive 130 billion rubles from the sale.

Veon unites telecom operators from Russia, Ukraine, Pakistan, Algeria, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Bangladesh, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia and Georgia. Almost half of the holding’s shares (47.9%) belong to billionaire Mikhail Fridman’s LetterOne group.
