Home sales to foreigners in Turkey at the end of August 2023 decreased by 42% year-on-year, to 3,058 properties. The main reasons for the decline are the increase in real estate prices and restrictions on the granting of residence permits, writes Vedomosti.
Russians remain the leaders among buyers and have been in first place since November 2022. In August, Russian citizens purchased 733 residential properties in Turkey.
In July, the media wrote that Turkey had stopped issuing residence permits in Istanbul to all foreigners. The Turkish Interior Ministry later denied this data, indicating that the restriction applies only to 10 districts of the city.
