Russian perfume maker Lemonade filed a lawsuit against Calvin Klein over the Flame brand. However, despite the departure of the American company from the domestic market, it will most likely not be possible to sue for the rights to the trademark, lawyers told Vedomosti.
Lemonade has been marketing perfumes, candles, sprays and diffusers, incense, solid perfumes, creams and scented disinfectants for seven years. The company itself belongs to businessman Pavel Pakhomkin. Its income last year amounted to 141 million rubles.
In March 2022, Calvin Klein announced that it would stop supplying clothing, underwear, perfumes and cosmetics to Russia, but products, including Eternity Flame perfume, can be found for sale in markets.
- At the end of 2022, perfume sales in Russia increased by 27.6%. In total, 85.5 million bottles of fragrances were sold last year. This year there was a 2.4% drop in total sales. Competition in the Russian perfume market is not so high and the departure of foreign companies provides additional space for domestic producers. The editors of RB.RU have collected the 10 best young Russian perfume brands that have already found their niche in the market.
